On a budget and looking for free ATMs in Brunei - Any top banks?
Top banks like Maybank and BIBD have the most reliable ATMs for foreign tourists in Brunei. They dont charge any fees. Baiduri bank has a 3 dollar fee. Definitely avoid Standard Chatarted - highest fees. BIBD had a BBD 3,000 limit - not too shabby.
For foreign card withdrawals in Brunei, TAIB Bank ATMs stand out because they offer zero withdrawal fees for some international cards. The per withdrawal limit is about BND 2,000, which is around $1,450 USD. Daily limits can be higher at some ATMs, up to BND 4,000. I tried Maybank also - worked without any fees.
Brunei isn’t huge and neither is its ATM network. Baiduriwas the most reliable, always had cash but it did have a 3 BBD fee. BIBD and TAIB banks were also good - and best , no fees. Withdrawal limits tend to cap at BND 2,000 to 3,000 per day. I also preferred using ones inside bank branches just incase the ATM took my card.
