ATM wins, no contest. I use Credins or Union Bank and skip the airport counters.
did both to compare. Airport exchange gave me a noticeably lower rate and wanted to charge a “handling fee.” Used a Credins ATM later in Tirana with my Revolut card, declined conversion, and got the best rate of the trip.
never exchange at the airport unless ur desperate. rates are way worse and they sometimes sneak in a fee too. i grabbed 1000 lek at the airport just to get into town, then used an ABI Bank ATM for proper cash.
