I need to take out quite a bit of cash during my trip. Anyone know cheapest ATMs & daily withdrawal limits for foreign cards at Portugal ATMs?

Most ATMs in Portugal limit foreign card withdrawals to about €400 a day, with €200 per transaction commonly. Multibanco is the national ATM network and has the best rates and lowest fees. Santander and Millennium BCP ATMs are also reliable. Watch out for airport ATMs and Euronet machines; they tend to charge both withdrawal fees and bad currency conversion rates. Use travel cards like Wise or Revolut for fee-free withdrawals whenever possible.

If you’re withdrawing large sums in Portugal, stick to Multibanco ATMs as they generally waive withdrawal fees even for foreign cards. Daily withdrawal limits are usually around €400, split between multiple transactions of up to €200 each. I also recommend notifying your bank before traveling to avoid fraud blocks. Avoid withdrawing from Euronet ATMs, as their fees and currency conversion rates can be overpriced.

Portugal’s ATM withdrawal limits are typically €400 per day, with each transaction maxing out near €200. Use the local Multibanco ATMs whenever possible-they don’t charge fees for foreign debit/credit card withdrawals. I noticed that places like Lisbon and Porto have plenty of these ATMs, usually inside shopping centers or near banks. Beware of airport or tourist spot ATMs-they often add hefty extra fees.

ATMs in Portugal are pretty traveler-friendly, especially if you use the Multibanco network-these ATMs are widespread and often free of withdrawal fees for foreign cards. You can usually withdraw up to €400 daily, with per withdrawal limits around €200. Banks like Millennium BCP, Santander, and BBVA are common. Avoid Euronet ATMs, which tend to have hidden fees and poor exchange rates. Always choose to be charged in Euros to avoid dynamic currency conversion charges.

Banco BPI in Portugal was easy to use. Just remember to decline the currency conversion to avoid extra fees.

In Portugal, MBMultibanco ATMs require you to press Decline Conversion *twice*. Dont miss it-no conversion fee and no ATM fee either.

In Portugal, CreditAgricola ATM gave me the option to accept or decline conversion. Declining saved me from extra currency conversion fees.
