From my experience, HDFC ForexPlus and Axis Bank Forex cards are pretty reliable for Indians traveling abroad. They have good partner ATMs globally, and you can load multiple currencies. The main catch is usually the initial issuance fees and reload charges, so plan ahead. For small trips, traditional multi-currency cards might make sense. but cards like Niyo or FI save you hassle if you’re a frequent traveler,

FI travel card surprised me! No annual fees, zero forex markup, and you get free ATM withdrawals at Global ATMs is cool. Plus, the app is super smooth. I’ve used it in Europe and Southeast Asia without issues. The customer support is decent too. If you want a card focused purely on travel with minimal hidden charges, FI is definitely worth considering.

Scapia card is okay but not as popular as Niyo or FI. I tried it once, and while the forex charges were low, I found their ATM withdrawal limits a bit restrictive. It’s good if you don’t need to take out cash often because it focuses more on card spending. If you’re someone who prefers a card with travel insurance included, you might want to check their latest offers.

I’ve been using Niyo Global Card for the past year, and honestly, it’s really convenient. Zero forex markup and no ATM fees up to a limit helped me save a bunch. Cards are accepted worldwide, and the app lets me freeze or unfreeze easily if I misplace it. The only downside is the cashback categories can be limited, but for straight-up travel spending, it’s a solid pick.
