I need to take out quite a bit of cash during my trip. Anyone know cheapest ATMs & daily withdrawal limits for foreign cards at Guam ATMs?
After backpacking all over Guam, my clear advice is to use Bank of Guam or 1st Hawaiian for simplicity-$5 per withdrawal, up to $1,000.Plenty of ATMs at Guam Premier Outlets and Micronesia Mall, but always take a backup card!
If you’re staying at hotels like Hilton or Pacific Islands Club, you’ll find Bank of Guam ATMs close by, and it’s $5 per use for foreigners. Bank Pacific’s $650 max limit per transaction gets annoying-plan cash runs especially before weekends as the machines can get busy with locals.
I’ve tried all the major banks in Tumon and the tourist strip. Bank of Guam, 1st Hawaiian, and Bank Pacific always charge $5 per transaction and Bank of Hawaii is fee-free. All but Ban kPacific had a $1,000 limit per withdrawal. Machines always had English instructions and worked fine with foreign Mastercards. Pro tip: take out the max each time to avoid lots of $5 hits.
Just used the Bank of Guam and 1st Hawaiian ATMs at the airport-each charged a $5 fee per withdrawal, and the daily limit was always $1,000. The Bank of Hawaii ATM sometimes showed $0 fee, but other times, it charged me $5.20 - so weird. Best option is to check the on-screen fee before confirming. Bank Pacific machines were reliable but capped me at $650 per transaction, so I needed a couple of withdrawals for bigger expenses.
