Is American Express (Amex) accepted in Singapore?

Amex is accepted in some malls, hotels, and Grab app payments, also worked fine one HSBC ATM. 

I used my Amex at most touristy places, like Gardens by the Bay, malls, and even taxi

yo bring a backup card 100%. amex worked at the hotel and at a nice sushi place in Clarke Quay, but nowhere else.i always carry a backup mastercard with me
