My daily budget while exploring Venezuela’s coastal areas was about $38. Food markets, taxis charging around 25,000 VES, and small entrance fees fit comfortably into this range. I avoided card payments for taxis since cash is still dominant.

Venezuela’s inflation made budgeting tricky, but roughly $40 a day covered basics like dining near Las Mercedes, taxi rides, and museum visits. Staying at mid-range places near the airport helped balance costs, and I always carried enough bolívars in small bills.

I spent around $35 a day in Venezuela, mostly eating at street vendors and using taxis in Maracaibo. Currency volatility means prices can shift quickly, so it’s smart to check rates daily. I withdrew cash from Banco Mercantil ATMs to manage daily expenses easily.

When I traveled around Caracas, I found that budgeting about 200,000 to 250,000 VES (roughly $30-$40 USD) daily worked well for meals, taxis, and small entry fees. Local markets near Plaza Bolívar had affordable food, and taxis were usually cash-only, costing around 20,000 VES per short trip. Hotels like the Eurobuilding were pricier but convenient.
