Traveling with an Amex - will I be able to use it widely in Boliviaor should I carry a backup Visa/Mastercard?

Couldnt withdraw from Bn Ganadero using my American Express card. Might not be accepted.

BNB ATM worked perfectly with my foreign Visa debit card. No problems at all. But I did not see an Amex sticker so likely not.
