Is it safe to withdraw cash in Brazil or not?

Brazil’s mostly fine if you use common sense. I stuck to daytime withdrawals at Itaú and Bradesco branches.

I used Santander ATMs in Florianópolis and Recife with no issues. They were inside well lit areas with security nearby. I avoided withdrawing after dark just to be safe.

yes but u gotta be smart. i only withdrew in big malls or inside bank buildings. never on the street or at night. carry small amounts, and don’t count your money outside the machine.

I felt safe using ATMs inside Bradesco and Banco do Brasil branches during the day in São Paulo and Rio. Avoid the standalone ATMs in gas stations or 24-hour shops.... those felt sketchy.

Tromso ATM in Brazil is centrally located near the port in a safe area. Used my Mastercard without issues.
