For anywhere between 2,200 and 3,000 gourdes a day, you should comfortably pay for food, transport, and guide services in Haiti. Most taxis prefer cash, and I withdrew from Sogebank ATMs regularly.

Average daily expenses in Haiti hover near $30-$35, covering meals, frequent use of local taxis, and small entry fees. Staying at Hotels Oloffson meant higher lodging cost but excellent proximity to central attractions.

I stayed near Pétion-Ville and found that $30 per day balanced food costs, taxis, and museum entry fees. Local markets provide cheap food, but taxis usually run on cash, so carry some extra gourdes.

Budgeting about 2,000 to 2,500 Haitian gourdes ($25-$30) daily works well for travelers around Port-au-Prince. This covers meals at local restaurants near the Iron Market and taxi rides to museums or historical sites. Hotels like Karibe Hotel offer mid-range prices.
