For Congo trips, budgeting $15-$20 a day is reasonable if you use taxis from Bank of Central African States ATMs and eat at local diners. Outside Brazzaville, costs might vary, but city essentials fall comfortably within that range. I found smaller hotels near Airport Road affordable.

Life in Congo for tourists isn’t too pricey but you should budget around 10,000 XAF per day ($18-$20). This covers local restaurants, frequent taxi use around Brazzaville, and entry to cultural spots like Maison du Peuple. I stayed near Camp Clairon and taxis cost roughly 1,500 XAF for short trips.

A sensible daily budget in Congo includes about $18, enough for street food meals, frequent rides in taxis or moto-taxis, and small admission fees to attractions. Staying in central areas like Bacongo helps reduce transport costs but hotel prices can vary widely.

Exploring Congo typically means budgeting roughly 8,000 to 12,000 XAF ($14-$22) daily for essentials. This covers meals near Brazzaville’s Marché Central, short taxi trips, and entry fees for local sites like Basilique Sainte-Anne. I found lodging near Avenue de la Paix affordable but taxi rides could add up.
