I always skip airport withdrawals.Scotiabank and RBC have ATMs all over major Canadian cities. Better rates, and fewer surprise fees. I usually withdraw once I reach the hotel.

Used a TD Bank ATM right outside my hotel in Vancouver. Way better than the currency exchange inside the Airport. If you don’t urgently need cash, wait until downtown. Enjooooy!

Definitely wait until you’re in the city. I landed in Toronto Pearson and the airport ATMs were all from third-party operators charging $5-7 CAD per withdrawal. In the city, I used a Scotiabank ATM and paid less than $3 with a better exchange rate.
