Is it better to pay taxis in Cuba with cash, or do drivers accept cards or payment apps?

Cuba is definitely a cash-only country for taxis. I used CUP mostly and had to exchange some USD before the trip. No chance for cards or digital payments here yet.

I found taxi drivers in Cuba only take cash, and the two currencies (CUP and CUC) matter depending on your route. No card readers or apps are in sight, so carry cash.

Paying taxis in Cuba? It’s all cash, no exceptions. Card and app payments just don’t happen. Bring plenty of local currency before your trip or use ATM withdrawals where available.

In Cuba, it’s 100% cash. Even in Havana, taxis won’t accept cards or apps. You gotta have Cuban Pesos or Convertible Pesos on you. The ATM network here is limited, so withdraw beforehand.
