You'll need small cash, as buses here don't take cards. My friend who was traveling with me didn't have any small bills and had a really tough time. The mini-buses operate on a cash-only basis. So, you'll need to get some local currency from a bank or an ATM with a Visa or Mastercard and be sure to have smaller notes for your bus fares.

You'll need cash for sure. The bus system is not a centralized network but a collection of privately owned vans. They only accept cash for fares. My advice is to get a few small denominations of East Caribbean Dollars from a local bank like the National Commercial Bank of Dominica and keep them in a separate pocket for bus fares.

Forget about using cards for buses here. I was just in Dominica, and all the buses are cash-only. They are privately operated, and you just pay the fare directly to the driver when you get in. There are no card readers or a metro. Make sure you have small notes of East Caribbean dollars, as the drivers might not be able to give you change for large bills.

You will definitely need small cash for buses in Dominica. There is no metro, and the bus system is composed of small, privately owned minibuses that operate on a set route. The drivers will not accept cards; all fares are paid in cash. The local currency is the East Caribbean Dollar (XCD), but US dollars are also widely accepted. Just be sure to have small bills and coins ready.
