Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Haiti. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.

For budget-conscious travelers, SOGEBANK is your best choice in Haiti. Their ATMs accept Visa and Mastercard, with fees around $3-$5 per withdrawal. Daily limits are about $400-$500, but I advise withdrawing large sums to avoid paying fees multiple times. Avoid small or private ATMs in tourist areas-they’re expensive and unreliable.

Haiti is pretty cash-heavy, so even with foreign cards, expect fees at all ATMs. Sogebank in downtown Port-au-Prince offers the best rates and accepts most foreign cards without many issues. The fees could still add up, so take out bigger sums less frequently. I stayed at Hotel Oloffson and the staff recommended the Sogebank ATMs nearby for safer and cheaper withdrawals.

I found SOGEBANK ATMs in Petionville very reliable with reasonable fees-around $4 per withdrawal using my Mastercard debit card. Other ATMs in Port-au-Prince can be sketchy and might charge you up to $7 or more, so I’d stick to Sogebank or Capital Bank. Daily withdrawal limits in these banks hover around $400-$500 per day.

In Port-au-Prince, Sogebank ATMs accept foreign cards like Visa and Mastercard with fees around $3-$5 per withdrawal, substantially better than the small, private ATMs around the city. Daily withdrawal limits tend to be about $500, which should cover most needs. Budget travelers should avoid airport ATMs, which have much higher fees.
