Looking for reliable ATMs in Curacao that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. Any recos will be highly appreciated.
Expect ATM fees in Curaçao between $7.50 (MCB Bank) and $7.95 (Banco di Caribe) fees for $1,000 per transaction limit. For peace of mind, use the airport or big resort ATMs-they’re the best stocked and have English instructions.
For those after cheaper options, Vidanova Bank was best for me-flat fee of 4.17 guilders for a 1,000 guilders withdrawal limitper transaction. I found their machines at Saliña and Piscadera. No US dollar fees on my European card, and withdrawals were smooth. Note: not every bank’s ATM supports all foreign cards, so always keep a backup on hand.
Bit of a heads up: Banco di Caribe ATMs in Curaçao also hit you with a $7.95 USD fee every time. Withdrawal max is $1,000 so budget accordingly. I tried my Revolut card there, worked without issue, but those fees are a pain if you need cash often. If you’re staying near Mambo Beach, MCB Bank has the most reliable machines, just check your own bank’s policy to avoid double-charging.
Just got back from Willemstad, and if you’re using a foreign card, MCB Bank ATMs are everywhere but they’ll charge a flat $7.50 USD fee per withdrawal. The limit’s $1,000 per transaction, so it’s best to take out the max to avoid getting hit by fees many times. My Visa and Mastercard worked fine, especially at the Punda district branches. Bring extra cash if you’re island hopping because outlying areas have fewer machines.
