For meals, transport, tips - whats the safe amount to carry in Poland ? Trying to plan a daily budget for a month long trip
for a 30-day trip, I’d say set aside 4,000-4,500 PLN if you want some comfort and flexibility. Most people carry R50-100 PLN cash on them and use cards for everything else. Smaller towns might still prefer cash, though.
My average spend was about 130 PLN a day. I usually had breakfast at the hostel, lunch on the go, and a decent dinner with drinks. Public transport is super cheap..less than 5 PLN per ride. I also tipped 10% at restaurants when service was good.
i kept about 100 zł cash daily and paid the rest by card. metro, food, cafes all take contactless now. only needed cash for street food or older shops in Kraków. you’ll be good with 3,000-3,500 PLN monthly if ur not splurging.
I budgeted around 120-150 PLN per day and felt really comfortable. That covered meals (including some sit-down places), trams, buses, and the occasional museum or coffee stop. Poland’s still quite affordable compared to Western Europe.
