In Vilnius, I often grabbed kibinai pastries for €2 and lunches in small canteens for €6-7. Dinner in Old Town restaurants with beer was around €15. Transport was cheap and easy, €1.50 per ride, though I walked most days. Tipping was usually rounding up the bill, sometimes 10%. On average, I spent €40 daily, and that included small museum tickets and a couple of bar nights. Lithuania isn’t as cheap as the Balkans but still affordable compared to Western Europe. The culture and food make it worth every euro.

Meals: €6-8 in casual places, €15 in restaurants. Transport: €1.50 single ticket, €15 for weekly pass. Tips: 5-10% in restaurants. A safe daily budget is €40-45 for meals, transport, and tips. That figure lets you eat out most days and use public transport without worry. Add more for attractions or nightlife, but €45 is enough for a comfortable long-term stay. Lithuania isn’t ultra-cheap, but compared to Germany or France it’s much easier on the wallet.

I spent about €50 per day in Lithuania, and that gave me comfort. Restaurant meals with a drink cost €12-15, lunches in small cafes €6-8. Public transport was cheap, though I mostly walked in Vilnius and Kaunas. Tips of 10% are appreciated but not heavily enforced. I also spent €5-10 for museum entries or guided walking tours. So €50 daily feels like a safe budget if you want to enjoy eating out, tipping properly, and exploring. It’s still cheaper than Scandinavia, but more polished than Eastern Europe.

Lithuania felt like a nice balance - not Western Europe prices, but not dirt cheap either. Meals at casual cafes were €6-8, while simple street snacks like kibinai were €Public transport tickets in Vilnius were €1.50 each, or €15 for a week pass. Tipping is usually 5-10%. You can make it on €30-35 daily if you eat at cheaper places and stick to buses or trams. It’s affordable for Europe, though not as cheap as the Balkans. Definitely worth it for the charm of Vilnius Old Town.
