I was blown away by how affordable Kosovo was. A big meat platter in Prizren with bread and salad was €7, and a cappuccino only €0.80. My taxi from the bus station to my hostel cost €Buses between cities are €4-5, and tips were just small change. I comfortably spent €30 daily, and that included beers at night. Compared to other Balkan countries, Kosovo is incredibly wallet-friendly. Even if you’re not counting every euro, it’s hard to go over €40 a day unless you’re eating fancy all the time.

For meals, transport, and tips in Kosovo, budget €25-35 per day. Local food is very affordable, €4-8 for a meal, and taxis within cities are €2-Intercity buses €3-6. Tips: round up or leave 5-10%. It’s really that cheap. You’ll only spend more if you eat Western-style meals in touristy areas or drink a lot in bars. Most travellers find Kosovo one of the least expensive countries in the Balkans, so even a month-long stay won’t break the bank. It’s a great option for long-term travellers.

I averaged around €40 per day in Kosovo, eating both at local restaurants and mid-level spots. Meals with grilled meat platters and salads were €6-8, while cafes with pasta or pizza were €5-10. Buses were cheap, under €6 for intercity trips. Tipping 10% is polite but not heavily enforced. If you plan to have drinks at bars in Pristina, add another €5-10 daily. Kosovo isn’t expensive, so €40 lets you eat well, move around comfortably, and not think about cutting corners. It’s one of Europe’s better value destinations.

Kosovo was one of the cheapest places I’ve travelled in Europe. A meal at a local grill house is €3-5, and coffee costs less than €1 everywhere. Buses between cities are €3-6, and within-town taxis rarely exceed €2-Tipping is low, usually rounding up or 5-10% in restaurants. You can comfortably live on €20-25 per day for food, transport, and tips. I stayed a month in Pristina and Prizren and never felt short of money. It’s a perfect spot if you’re on a backpacker budget and still want proper meals.
