On the Isle of Man, I found myself budgeting higher than expected. A pub meal with beer was £15-18, and sit-down restaurants near Douglas Promenade charged £25+. Buses were straightforward and fairly priced, and I got a £19 unlimited pass for three days which saved money. Tipping wasn’t heavy, just 10%. On average I’d say £65 daily covered meals, buses, and tips. Add more if you plan to ride the steam trains or splurge on seafood dinners. It’s scenic but definitely not a low-cost destination.

Food is the priciest part of a daily budget here. Expect £10 for lunch, £20 for dinner, plus drinks. Transport with bus passes works out cheap, under £5 per day if staying longer. Tips: 10% max. So a safe daily number is £60-70 if you want to eat at restaurants. Cheaper if you self-cater and stick to buses, maybe £45. But tourist activities like railway rides, castles, and coastal trips will raise costs on certain days. The island is small, but experiences aren’t budget-friendly.

I visited for a week and averaged about £70 daily. Meals in casual restaurants were £12-15 for lunch, £20-25 for dinner with drinks. Public buses were cheap, but I also used the vintage railways which were £6-10 per ride. Tipping was easy, about 10% in sit-down places. If you plan coastal walks, museum visits, and some pub dinners, £70 per day is a realistic budget. Accommodation costs are another story, but for meals, transport, and tips, that number worked for me without cutting corners.

The Isle of Man is not cheap compared to the UK mainland. Expect £10-12 for a basic pub lunch, £20+ for dinner. Transport is manageable with bus passes at around £18 for three days. Tipping isn’t a big culture, though 10% in restaurants is polite. For someone travelling on a budget, £45-50 daily is the minimum. That’s meals in pubs, bus rides, and small tips. Staying longer helps since you can get weekly transport passes. Don’t expect bargain street food, but the island scenery makes up for costs.
