Traveling with an Amex - will I be able to use it widely in Denmarkor should I carry a backup Visa/Mastercard?
Don’t expect smooth travel with Amex in Denmark. Restaurants, museums, and even supermarkets refused it. ATMs also didn’t support it. I relied on Visa, which worked flawlessly everywhere. Meals were pricey - about 200 DKK - and I averaged 800 DKK daily. Mastercard was fine too. Amex is not practical for Denmark, so carry Visa or Mastercard if you want no issues during your trip.
Denmark has gone mostly cashless, but Amex isn’t widely accepted. I couldn’t use it in smaller restaurants or stores. ATMs didn’t work either.
