Wondering how to pay for metro and bus rides in Poland - cash only, or do cards work too?
Used my Revolut card on public transport in Gdańsk and Poznań, buses had contactless terminals. Just tap and ride. Poland’s made it really easy for tourists with cards.
I used a Mastercard to buy metro tickets at machines in Wrocław, worked perfectly. Machines have English too. Didn’t try paying onboard though. I think Kraków even has a mobile app for tickets now.
yep cards work great in bigger cities. in łódź i used contactless on buses no problem. but in smaller towns like zakopane u might still need cash or get a local ticket card. so carry a bit of both.
Warsaw and Kraków are super card-friendly. I tapped my Visa directly on the validator inside buses and trams. It charged me the exact fare, no ticket needed. Metro stations have machines where you can pay by card too.
