Local bank ATMs in Luxembourg dont charge any fees. During my week in Luxembourg, I mainly withdrew at Spuerkeess ATMs. My Wise Visa worked well, with a limit of €500 and no local fee. BGL BNP Paribas also worked with my Monzo card, and I was able to get €600 in a single transaction. Honestly, I barely needed cash since most transport, hotels, and even food trucks accepted contactless payments. Still, I was glad to carry around €50-100 for small purchases in markets and bus tickets. Overall, Luxembourg was one of the easiest places for cash access.

While most Luxembourg ATMs are fair, I did get stung once. A smaller ATM at a petrol station charged me €3 for a withdrawal, and it only allowed €300 at a time. My HSBC debit card also had issues at Banque Raiffeisen, although it worked fine with BNP Paribas. Withdrawal limits at major banks ranged from €500-600. Overall, it’s best to stick with big-name banks like BGL BNP and Spuerkeess and avoid random ATMs in tourist areas or gas stations.

I was pleasantly surprised in Luxembourg. At BNP Paribas near the central station, my Revolut Mastercard worked perfectly, and I withdrew €600 in one go with no fee. BIL ATMs also accepted my Monzo card, with limits of €2000. I barely needed cash since almost every café, bar, and bus accepted contactless, but I kept €100 in my wallet just in case. Compared to France and Belgium, Luxembourg ATMs felt more straightforward, and the lack of hidden fees made it stress-free.

Luxembourg ATMs are very traveler-friendly, and the best options are BGL BNP Paribas, Banque Raiffeisen, and Poste Luxembourg and also ING in some places.. My HSBC Visa worked fine at BNP Paribas, with a withdrawal limit of €1,000 and no local fee. BIL also allowed €2,000 withdrawals. Avoid smaller independent ATMs, as they sometimes add a €2-3 fee. Most machines give options for €20 or €50 bills. Since Luxembourg is so card-friendly, you don’t need much cash, but it’s still worth withdrawing some for buses or markets.
