Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Ireland. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.
Bank of Ireland, TSB, and KBC Bank have zero fees for foreign card holders. you can withdraw as much as your card allowes. All major ATMs in Dublin and Limerick are reliable, but smaller towns sometimes only have one machine, so plan ahead for festival weekends or off-hours!
TSB and Bank of Ireland are the best options here - they are everywhere. No fees for foreigners and withdrawal limit is up to your home card’s daily limit. Never had an issue with Visa or Mastercard. Stick to the big brand ATMs in city centers for best results. Do not withdraw from a supermarket - even if it is a bank ATM, it will charge you service fees because they have to pay the supermarket guys to keep that machine there.
Landed in Cork and found TSB abd Bank of Ireland ATMs - all with zero fee for my Revolut and Monzo cards. So much less hassle than I expected. Most machines let you take out as much as your home bank’s limit allows in one go - I withdrew 600 euros both times and could do that in one transaction. Handy tip: Bank of Ireland branches in the airport are open late, perfect for late-night arrivals.
Absolutely recommend Bank of Ireland and KBC Bank for travelers-no ATM fee for foreign cards, and there’s no set daily withdrawal limit except what your card allows. I used my American Chase debit all across Dublin, Galway, and Cork with no issues and zero local charges. Just remember, AIB charges sometimes charges extra 1% on top of their set fee, but that’s avoidable by sticking to other banks. City center ATMs are everywhere and super easy to use.
None of the bank ATMs in Ireland charge any extra fees. Bank of Ireland and AIB ATM were both accessible 24/7. Very convenient.
Funny. I used an AIB ATM on a street - no fee, could get 600 euros out in a transaction. but then in a small town (Ireland has soo many tiny towns), an AIB ATM inside a store charged €3.95 transaction fee - felt like a scam. Be careful where you use it.
Bank of Ireland ATM in Ireland always delivers-insert card, enter PIN, withdraw cash. Easy every time. Love it. NO fees, could get 500 euros out.
Bank of Ireland has one of the widest ATM networks. Free to use for foreigners in most cases. Just use standlone ones or inside bank branches, never in a pharmacy or store (those have fees). certainly avoid the non bank ones - those defo have fees.
