ATM fees and limits in Gibraltar?

During my Gibraltar visit, I used NatWest ATMs exclusively. They accepted my Monzo Mastercard, and I was able to withdraw £500 per transaction with no local fee. Trusted Novus was a good backup, with limits of £400-500. Euronet ATMs were scattered in tourist zones, but I avoided them due to their fees and poor rates. Honestly, I didn’t need much cash since most cafes, attractions, and even taxis took card payments. Still, it was reassuring to have some pounds in my pocket. Gibraltar ATMs were overall traveler-friendly.

Not every ATM in Gibraltar is foreign card-friendly. Euronet ATMs around Casemates Square charged me £4 per withdrawal and tried to force dynamic currency conversion into EUR with a terrible rate. NatWest was the only one that consistently worked with my HSBC debit card. The limit was £500, but one machine near the border rejected my Monzo card. I’d recommend sticking to bank-operated ATMs like NatWest or Gibraltar International Bank and avoiding independents. Always select GBP, never EUR, to avoid losing money on conversion.
