Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Albania. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.
This OTP/Alpha ATM is next to a bakery and works, but 700 Lek is too much. Its safe and open, but the fee isnt justified.
OTP/Alpha ATM is still operational but charged a steep 700 Lek fee. No notice, just the deduction. Use if youre stuck.
The ATM at BankT was easy to use and working fine, but I paid more than I hoped - about €7 per withdrawal. Could be better.
BankT works reliably, but the fee was more than expected - around €7. Its still present, just be prepared to pay a premium.
Confirmed working BankT ATM in Ksamil. Still charging 650 Lek. Felt safe using it and machine worked properly. Best option in the area.
BankT in Ksamil still works and is one of the cheapest options we found - 650 ALL. It was safe, worked fine, and gave up to 1000 Lek bills.
OTP/Alpha charged a 500 Lek fee using my UK Monzo card. ATM was safe and working late in the evening. At least its predictable.
Tirana Bank ATMs are still around and reliable - used my Visa and Mastercard, worked fine. Flat 700 Lek fee no matter how much you withdraw, which isnt too bad.
Can confirm Tirana Bank is safe and functional. Their ATM accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro. Fixed 700 Lek fee - better than some others Ive seen.
OTP/Alpha ATM charged me either 800 Lek or 2.5% for a single withdrawal using my Visa card. The machine was working, but thats one of the highest fees Ive seen in Albania.
This OTP/Alpha ATM is working and still present, but 800 Lek just to take out 5000 Lek is a rip-off. No excuse for that kind of fee.
BankT still exists, works well, and I felt safe using it even at night. The fee was 650 Lek for withdrawal and the ATM dispensed up to 1000 Lek denominations - not terrible overall.
Went to use the Tirana Bank ATM today and it was completely out of cash. Heads up if youre nearby.
This ATM at Tirana Bank charges about 500 Lek per withdrawal, which adds up fast. The more you take out, the more it stings. Feels like fee greed is the norm here.
