I was using an ATM near my hostel in Poland, & it took my card & never gave it back. No error message, just gone. Has anyone had this happen? Whats the fastest way to get it back? Any advice on who to call or what to do next?
Call your bank immediately, freeze the card in the app, and request a replacement. Also, let your hostel know, some staff helped me translate at the local branch.
I lost mine in a Millennium Bank machine near Poznań Główny station. Luckily, it was a 24h branch, so I went in first thing in the morning. Staff was helpful but said they can’t open machines until the armored service comes... took 3 days.
happened to me in Wrocław, card just disappeared into a PKO Bank Polski ATM. called the number on the ATM, they said they shred the card for “security” if not retrieved in time. i had to block it and use my backup. always keep 2 cards!
Yes! This happened to me at a Santander ATM in Kraków. It didn’t give any message, just kept my card. I went into the branch the next morning with my passport and they returned it. Only works if the ATM is directly attached to a bank branch though.
