I was using an ATM near my hostel in Netherlands, & it took my card & never gave it back. No error message, just gone. Has anyone had this happen? Whats the fastest way to get it back? Any advice on who to call or what to do next?

used a CIBC card at a bunq machine in Utrecht. Card disappeared and no one around. I called bunq’s support through the website, but they said only the card issuer can help. I ended up freezing the card and used my backup. Always carry 2 cards now!

If it's a bank-owned ATM like Rabobank, ING, or ABN AMRO, you can contact their local branch directly. They’ll often retrieve it within 1-2 working days if the card is still inside. But if it’s a third-party ATM (like Euronet), you're probably better off blocking it immediately and ordering a replacement.

yes same thing with ING atm near Leiden station. card went in n never came back. no msg. i blocked it right away using my app (was Revolut), then emailed the bank but they cudnt help since I wasn’t their customer. Always use ATMs during bank hours so someone is inside

Happened to me at an ABN AMRO ATM in Amsterdam. No error, just click and the card disappeared. I went into the branch the next morning with my passport and they had it behind the counter. If the ATM is attached to a bank and it’s during business hours, they can usually help.
