I carried about AUD 85 a day when visiting Tuvalu. Food costs are high, especially at places near Funafuti Harbor. Transport was mainly taxis or informal shuttles, so having cash ready was necessary.

Tuvalu’s limited infrastructure means you spend more on essentials. I spent close to AUD 70 daily, including food, transport, and minimal activities. Staying at small guesthouses helped control lodging expenses.

Around AUD 75 daily worked for me during my stay near the main village of Funafuti. Food was mostly imported, which drove prices up. Taxis and shuttle services were cash-based and cost about AUD 10-15 per trip.

Tuvalu is pricey because of its remoteness. I budgeted about AUD 80 a day, which covered meals in Funafuti, local transport, and occasional boat trips. Staying at the Vaiaku Lagi Hotel added some comfort but also cost.
