Is it better to pay taxis in Marshall Islands with cash, or do drivers accept cards or payment apps?

Budget travel tip: carry enough cash for taxis in the Marshall Islands. Drivers won’t accept card or app payments. I stayed near Laura and got USD at bank ATMs for all my taxi rides around the islands.

No card readers in taxis on Majuro, so cash is the way to go. Bring enough dollars or withdraw at the Bank of the Marshall Islands. Apps like PayPal or Venmo aren’t accepted, so don’t count on them.

Taxis in the Marshall Islands don’t take cards or mobile payments. I always kept some USD cash on hand for transport. Public buses are limited so taxis are the main option, and all want cash upfront.

In Majuro, cash is king for taxis. Drivers expect payment in US dollars - cards or apps aren’t really a thing for taxi payments. I found ATMs at Bank of Guam handy to get cash once I arrived.
