Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Wallis and Futuna. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.

Wallis and Futuna’s banking is basic and there’s one main ATM in Mata Utu run by Banque de Wallis et Futuna. The ATM accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards with small fees, around 3 to 5 CFP francs. Daily limits are good enough for most trips. Since no other ATMs exist, withdraw enough cash before moving around too much. I used my Revolut card and saved on some fees.

If you’re visiting Wallis and Futuna, expect only one main ATM, at Banque de Wallis et Futuna in Mata Utu. It accepts most foreign cards but charges a small fee per withdrawal, nothing crazy. The daily withdrawal limit is around 50,000 CFP, which worked well for me. Bring enough cash though if you’re heading to outer islands where banking isn’t available.

I used the Banque de Wallis et Futuna ATM in Mata Utu and found it reasonably foreign card friendly. Fees were quite low, especially compared to other Pacific islands, around 3 XPF per transaction. The withdrawal limit was fine for daily expenses, about 50,000 CFP francs. Budget travelers should withdraw enough at once because there aren’t any ATMs on the smaller islands.

Wallis and Futuna are tiny and ATM options are limited-most people use the Banque de Wallis et Futuna in Mata Utu. Their ATM accepts Visa and Mastercard with low fees, usually around 2 to 5 XPF per withdrawal. Daily withdrawal limits are about 50,000 XPF, enough for most travelers. Since there’s basically just one ATM hub, plan your cash needs carefully.
