Planning $30 a day helped me cover meals at local spots like La Chaumière, taxis around Djibouti port, and small tips. Staying near Boulevard Georges Clemenceau kept transport costs manageable.

Djibouti is affordable if you budget about 5,500 DJF daily. Meals from markets were inexpensive, and taxis between airport and city averaged 1,000 DJF. Tip amounts were small but customary.

My daily budget around $28 in Djibouti allowed for local eats, short taxi trips near the Port, and some small tip gestures. I stayed at Africa Hotel and found transport costs reasonable.

I planned about 5,000 to 6,000 Djiboutian francs ($25-$30 USD) per day in Djibouti City for meals, taxis, and tips. Street food and local cafés near Lake Assal were affordable, and taxis averaged 500-1,000 DJF per ride.
