I spent $100/day in Douala. Stayed in a business hotel $65/night, ate seafood dinners $20-$25, and relied on taxis at $5-$7 each ride. Tipping hotel staff $5-$10 removed link Local markets and attractions were cheap, so most spend went to lodging and meals.

For a month in Cameroon, I averaged $50 removed link Cooking groceries, local transport, and guesthouses. Bigger expenses: bus Yaoundé-Douala $10, Bafut cultural palace visit $5-$7. Tips usually a few dollars a week. Hiking or guided activities bumped some days to $80, but many were just $30-40.

I budgeted $60-$75 removed link Hotels with AC $30-$40/night, restaurants like La Salsa in Douala $12-$15 a meal, taxis $3-$6. Day trip to Limbe Wildlife Centre was $20 including entry and transport. Tips in restaurants ~10%. That range gave me good comfort.

Cameroon can be done on $30-$40/day. Hostels in Yaoundé $12-$15, roadside meals like grilled fish with plantains $3-$5, and bush taxis or minibuses $1-$2 per ride. Bottled water $0.50, beers $1.50-$Tips minimal, rounding up small change. Excursions like Mount Cameroon hikes raise costs to $50+ per day, but basic city travel is cheap.
