Is it better to pay taxis in DRC (DR Congo) with cash, or do drivers accept cards or payment apps?

For taxis in DRC, cash rules. Even if you see apps advertised, the drivers usually don’t accept them. Better to plan ahead and carry enough local cash or dollars than get stuck.

Nearly all public and private taxis in DRC only take cash. I didn’t see mobile payments or cards accepted, even in Kinshasa. It’s best to stock up on francs or USD and have enough on hand.

Payment apps or cards with taxis in DRC? Forget it. You’ll need cash almost everywhere, especially for taxis. I withdrew Congolese francs at Rawbank ATMs just to cover transport.

In Kinshasa, cash is the way to go for taxis. Very few taxis accept cards or mobile payment apps here. Make sure to carry Congolese francs or US dollars in cash for a smooth ride.
