Foreign card usage in DRC is mostly reliable at Rawbank ATMs in Kinshasa, with withdrawal fees reasonable compared to smaller banks. Withdrawal limits vary but average $300 to $500 per day. Some ATMs in malls like Lipopo might charge higher fees or have machine issues. I always suggest travelers come prepared with some cash and check daily limits with their banks before arriving.

Kinshasa’s ATM network is mostly dominated by Rawbank and Trust Merchant Bank. My experience withdrawing with my Visa card was good but expect ATM fees and bank fees combined to be around 5%. Daily withdrawal limits can be tight around $300. Small towns outside Kinshasa rarely have reliable ATM options, so plan cash needs accordingly.

I used my Mastercard in Gombe at Rawbank ATMs and they worked well. Fees were standard, about 10,000 to 15,000 CDF per withdrawal, plus my bank’s fees. Daily limits were around $300 to $500 depending on your card issuer. DRC can be a cash-heavy country, so bring some USD as backup. For budget travel, Wise or Revolut help keep withdrawal fees manageable.

In Kinshasa, some ATMs at Rawbank and Trust Merchant Bank accept foreign cards like Visa and Mastercard and don’t charge crazy fees - usually around $5 per withdrawal. Withdrawal limits at these banks hover around $500 per transaction but depend on your home bank too. Avoid small or unbranded ATMs, especially near markets, as these sometimes reject foreign cards or charge excessive fees.
