Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Morocco. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.
There is no dialog for the fee. For example I take out max 2000 DH and get from my bank the exchange rate of 192.16 Euro. Brilliant. Then I looked in the banking app and was charged 196.39 Euro. There was no question about using Euro or Dirrahm at all.
Reconfirmed - withdrew 2000 MAD, was charged more than expected, and no option was shown to accept or decline conversion.
Same issue - Al Barid ATM wasnt operational. Consistently unreliable.

Same ATM near EXPRESS MARKET. Open 24/7, worked fine with my Mastercard.
Al Barid ATM near EXPRESS MARKET with red sign - works and accessible 24/7. Also has a currency exchange next door.
Credit Agricole I was charged 50 MAD when withdrawing 2000 MAD using my Visa.
Tried to use Al Barid ATM, but it was empty - no cash stocked.
Poste Maroc ATMs are free - not just this one but across the country. Worked well with Visa and Mastercard.
BMCE ATM had no cash available when I tried.
ATM only dispensed large bills. Inconvenient for small purchases.
BMCE ATM worked and gave me cash using one card from India, but not the other. Could be a card issue.
Al Barid didnt work with my Indian card. Tried multiple locations.
