Is it safe to withdraw cash in Bahamas or not?

Found a Commonwealth Bank ATM near the cruise port - worked well even in the evening. There were tourists still walking about, and the general vibe was low-key and safe. Didn’t notice any security nearby, but it didn’t feel necessary.

I tried an ATM at a petrol station near Freeport around 10 PM. Worked fine, but the area was quiet, and a car parked nearby gave me pause. Nothing happened, but I didn’t stick around long. When withdrawing cash late in the Bahamas, location is everything.

While staying on Paradise Island, I withdrew cash from a Scotiabank ATM inside a hotel lobby. Smooth experience, 24/7 access, and always staff nearby. Most visitors I met preferred using hotel ATMs in the Bahamas after dark instead of those on empty streets.

In Nassau, I used a Royal Bank of Canada ATM on Bay Street around 9:30 PM. It was in a tourist-heavy zone, well-lit with security cameras, and felt fine. ATM safety in the Bahamas at night is dependable near resorts and central locations, but caution’s still smart in less populated areas.
