Is it okay to use ATMs late in the evening in Sint Maarten or should I stick to daytime withdrawals only? I am a single woman travelling so want to be safe.

While staying on the French side, I tried a Credit Mutuel ATM after 9 PM - worked fine, but signage was all in French, which confused me. The area felt quiet but safe. Withdrawing money after dark in Sint Maarten is possible, but I recommend doing it during the day unless you're near a resort.

On the Dutch side, I had no issues withdrawing after dark near Maho Beach. But machines can run out of cash during peak weekends. Sint Maarten feels tourist-friendly, but thefts do happen occasionally - especially near beach bars. Late-night ATM use is okay, but use common sense.

Tried to use a PSS ATM in Cole Bay after dinner. Machine worked, but it felt isolated. No incidents, but I wouldn’t do it again. Cash withdrawal tips for Sint Maarten: stick to ATMs inside grocery stores, hotels, or casino complexes - they’re safer and have better lighting.

I stayed in Simpson Bay and withdrew cash from a Republic Bank ATM near a 24/7 minimart at around 10 PM. Felt totally fine - the area had tourists, lights, and taxis. Is it safe to use an ATM in Sint Maarten at night? Yes, in busy zones - but I’d avoid downtown Philipsburg late at night when it gets deserted.
