I was using an ATM near my hostel in Anguilla, & it took my card & never gave it back. No error message, just gone. Has anyone had this happen? Whats the fastest way to get it back? Any advice on who to call or what to do next?

I had this exact issue at an NCBA ATM. Luckily, it was part of a bank branch in The Valley. I returned the next morning with ID and they returned my card. If an ATM in Anguilla takes your card, act quickly and only deal with major banks. If it’s a standalone machine at a store or gas station, you’re probably out of luck. Now I avoid late-night withdrawals and always carry a second card. Also recommend taking a photo of the machine ID and location if anything goes wrong - helps when filing a report.

Lost my debit card at an ATM next to a gas station outside of Blowing Point. No bank attached. I called the number listed, but no one ever called back. Locals said it’s a common issue. Anguilla ATM card retrieval is very hit-or-miss - if it’s not a full-service bank, don’t expect much. I had to cancel and rely on Western Union for cash after that. Learned the hard way: always use ATMs during the day and only those at banks like NCBA or Republic. Never those random standalones.

My Revolut card got eaten by a Republic Bank ATM in Sandy Ground. There was no way to get it back because it was a standalone machine. I called the number posted on the ATM and was told the technician only comes weekly. Foreign cards swallowed by ATMs in Anguilla may not be recoverable unless the machine is part of a staffed bank branch. I ended up canceling and using my backup. Now I only withdraw during banking hours and at ATMs inside bank lobbies - way safer and easier to deal with if something goes wrong.

This happened to me near The Valley at a National Commercial Bank ATM - no error, just silence and then nothing. I walked into the branch the next morning with my passport and they found the card, but it took two full days to retrieve it. If your card is swallowed by an ATM in Anguilla, your best bet is to go directly to the branch (if attached), report it ASAP, and bring ID. Don’t wait too long - some banks destroy unclaimed cards quickly. Also, freeze your card via app just in case.
