I need to take out quite a bit of cash during my trip. Anyone know cheapest ATMs & daily withdrawal limits for foreign cards at Saudi Arabia ATMs?

I was in Al‑Ula and used Al Rajhi ATMs. No ATM surcharge, just conversion as usual. They capped withdrawals at 5,000 SAR per day per card . I found it cheaper to take out around 1,500-2,000 SAR every two days than try big withdrawals. Also double‑checked with my bank before I left to confirm there’d be no foreign withdrawal fee on their end.

Travelled through Medina and Mecca last month with my Revolut Mastercard. All local bank ATMs (SNB Al Ahli, Samba Bank, Riyad Bank) let me pull cash with no extra. Each machine let me withdraw up to 5,000 SAR daily but my card issuer’s daily cap was closer to 2,000 SAR so I kept withdrawals smaller to stay within limits. That kept my own fx fees low.

Used a SABB / HSBC ATM in Jeddah mall and confirmed the limit was 5,000 SAR per day. I didn’t get hit with any ATM access fees, just the typical conversion fee from my US bank. Pro tip: always decline the ATM’s offer to convert to USD or EUR because that comes with a heavy margin. Opt to be charged in SAR instead. I spread withdrawals out over every couple of days. No surprises. Also no charges at Alinma bank and Saudi Fransi ATMs, same withdrawal limit.

I withdrew money in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam using my US Visa debit at Al Rajhi and NCB ATMs. No local ATM fees showed up on screen - Saudi banks don’t charge foreign withdrawal fees for debit cards. Daily withdrawal limit per ATM is 5,000 SAR (around $1,300). I pulled out a few hundred rials at a time just to stay under my own bank’s limit and avoid extra transaction fees. Worked great all trip.
