Is it safe to withdraw cash in Jordan or not?

Cash is widely used in Jordan, but withdrawing money after dark is something I planned only in city centers. In places like Aqaba, most ATMs are around hotels and always had security nearby.

Used an Arab Bank ATM near the Roman Theater at night - the area was decently lit, and a couple of cafes nearby stayed open. It was a quick, easy experience. I wouldn’t go looking for ATMs late in Amman’s quieter areas though.

Tried to find a working ATM in Wadi Musa after visiting Petra. Most were either shut or low on cash by evening. Locals advised doing withdrawals before dinner to avoid running into dry machines.

In Amman, I used a Housing Bank ATM in Rainbow Street around 10 PM. The place was lively, people were still out, and the machine felt secure. Nighttime ATM use in Jordan is fairly common in central parts of Amman - I didn’t feel unsafe.
