Is it safe to withdraw cash in Cyprus or not?
I didn't encounter any safety issues in Larnaca. I took out money around 8:45 PM from a card-friendly ATM near the beachfront promenade. Everything felt secure and well-monitored, and it was no different from most southern European cities.
Stayed near Ayia Napa - nightlife zone. Plenty of ATMs available even late, but I noticed higher withdrawal fees. Withdrawing money late at night in Cyprus is easy, but using machines inside hotels or next to banks felt a bit safer than random corner shops.
In Paphos, I used an Hellenic Bank ATM attached to a 24-hour kiosk after dinner. The machine worked, and the area had both locals and tourists strolling about. It didn’t feel sketchy. I still kept an eye on my surroundings and avoided alleys or standalone machines.
I was in Nicosia and withdrew cash from a Bank of Cyprus ATM near Ledra Street around 10 PM. The street had decent foot traffic and lighting. ATM safety at night in Cyprus felt totally fine in the capital. The machine supported English and worked with my Revolut card.
