Is it okay to use ATMs late in the evening in Bahrain or should I stick to daytime withdrawals only? I am a single woman travelling so want to be safe.
As a long-term traveler, I stayed in Manama’s Hoora district and withdrew money from Ithmaar Bank ATM around 10:30 PM. The area has nightlife, so there were still people around. While Bahrain is safe overall, I wouldn’t pull cash late from roadside ATMs in quieter areas like Riffa. Stick to banks or places with lighting and cameras.
Backpacking on a layover trip - I landed late and needed Bahraini dinars. Found a working ATM inside Bahrain International Airport around 1 AM. Totally secure and monitored. Also tried one at Seef Mall the next night - no issues. If you’re wondering about withdrawing cash after dark in Bahrain, go for mall ATMs or inside major hotels.
I’m a solo traveler and used a NBB ATM in Adliya around 11 PM. The vibe was chill, and there were still people out at the cafes. Honestly, Bahrain felt safer than parts of Europe I’ve been to. That said, always use ATMs attached to banks or commercial centers, not standalone ones. Local expats told me card skimming has happened - rare, but still.
ATM safety at night in Bahrain was never an issue for me. Stayed in Juffair and withdrew cash near Oasis Mall after midnight - no problems at all. The city is well-lit and active late into the evening. I used Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait ATMs mostly. As a digital nomad, I found Bahrain one of the safest Gulf countries for late-night movement.
