Spent a long weekend around Vatican City in April. I budgeted €90/day, allowing for mid-range dining, guided tours, and transport. Museum ticket was €30, lunch around €25, cappuccino €5, plus taxi rides and metro. It's touristy, so prices are higher than other parts of Rome. If you carefully choose cafes, you could get by on €70/day, but expect to spend around €80-90 comfortably.

March was busy with Vatican visits. I planned €80/day: €35 for a private hostel in Prati with good wifi, €20 on food, €15 on entrances, €10 on transport. Italy’s coffee culture is indulgent - espresso in St. Peter’s Square isn’t cheap. For a month-long stay near Vatican, expect €60-90 daily, depending on lodging style and how often you eat in local trattorias.

Spent three nights in Rome with two Vatican days in May. I averaged €60/day: €30 on basic hostel, €15 on meals at cafes, €15 on transport and entry tickets. No fancy dining, but plenty of museum and chapel visits. Vatican-specific budget ends up around €60-€70 per person daily. I always round up to account for small donations or last-minute snacks.

Visited Vatican City for a day in March. I spent about €70: €25 for entry to the museums, €10 on a gelato and coffee, €20 on souvenirs, and €15 on taxi and metro fares. Staying nearby in Rome added hotel costs, but your Vatican-only budget can be around €50-80 if you skip extras. My €70 felt just right - no stress, no overspend.
