In planning mode - how much budget should I keep in mind for the UK - any experiences?

I did Scotland on £40/day: dorm beds (£20), meal deals (£5-£7), buses (£5), and free hikes. Cities like London are tougher - £60-£70/day was my bare minimum.

If you prefer hotels and dining out, budget £200+/day. A central London hotel alone can cost £150-£250. Fine dining, taxis, and premium experiences add up fast.

Mid-range budget: £100-£150/day. This gets you a decent hotel (£80-£120), meals at casual restaurants (£30-£40), Tube/bus fares (£10-£15), and paid attractions (£15-£25). London is pricier - add 20%.

For a frugal traveler: £50-£70/day covers hostels (£25-£35), supermarket meals (£10-£15), public transport (£5-£10), and attractions (free museums help). Add £20-£30 if you eat at cheap restaurants.
