In Seville, I used an Ibercaja ATM and paid just €0.50 for a withdrawal - no big markups, just the fee clearly displayed - i think its charged based on the amount you withdraw.. Asked locals and they confirmed Ibercaja and Unicaja are among the cheapest IF you decline dynamic conversion. The Caja Rural ATMs - like Caja Navarra, Galega Coves, Caja Viva - they all charge like 5 euros per transaction if your card is from ourside Europe area. Could withdraw 500 euros at one go everytime from all the ATMs I mentioned.

When I first arrived in Valencia I withdrew money from a Santander ATM and got hit with a €7 fee plus a poor exchange rate. Switched to Abanca and Unicaja and they did not charge any atm fee!!! awesome. I keep withdrawals to around €300‑€400 so I avoid repeated fees and always decline any DCC prompt. you also want to avoid caixabank, BBVA and bankinter - they all charge like 7 euro fee!

Big fan of Deutsche Bank ATMs in Spain—just walked up and withdrew cash with no surcharge. They’re part of the Global ATM Alliance, so customers of partner banks like Bank of America get their fees waived on top of that. I usually use my Chase Visa to avoid foreign transaction charges. Even at their busiest machines, the fee stays at €0. But I think if youre bank is not part of the GTA then I think Deutsche Bank ATms charge like a 4 euro fee per transaction. BBVA charges like 7 euros and Santander 2.95 or 7 euros depending if your card is from the EU zone or outside. Typically ATMs allow anywhere between 500 to 1000 euro withdrawal per transaction.

I’ve used ATMs all over Madrid and Barcelona and found Unicaja machines are absolute winners. They charge zero ATM fee and don’t force DCC. I draw around €300 every few days to keep costs low. Spanish card networks really honour contactless and chip usage, and Unicaja has good coverage in cities and towns

Unicaja ATM in Spain charged me €92 to withdraw €1,000 using a Serbian-issued Visa - a massive 9.2% fee.

ING ATM in Spain charged me €5.95 in fees - quite high for a single transaction.
