Looking for reliable ATMs in France that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. Any recos will be highly appreciated.
I also found La Banque Postale ATMs inside post offices were pretty reliable and low on fees. They accepted my Capital One card every time without any hidden charges. Just make sure to always withdraw in euros and never accept the ATM’s offer to convert to your home currency. That’s where they get you. Cooperatif and Bred banque were also similar options I found - i think there is no lint on withdrawal it depends on your bank's limit.
Société Générale worked for me in Paris and Bordeaux. But i did get slapped with a 6 euro fee with my UK card. Thankfully i have a card from Malaysia too as I live there and no fees on that card. and they accepted both Visa and Mastercard. I used my card and withdrew 250 euros and the rate matched what I saw in my app of Malaysian Bank. The ATM gave a clear choice to be charged in euros or my home currency and I just picked euros to avoid the markup.Looking for reliable ATMs in France that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. Crédit Mutuel and La Banque Postale were solid options. I used their ATMs in Strasbourg and Lyon and never got charged anything extra beyond what my card provider normally charges. The machines were straightforward and gave me the option to decline conversion without any tricks.Looking for reliable ATMs in France that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. I had good luck with BNP Paribas ATMs all across France. My Wise and Revolut cards from the US worked without any issues and the fees were minimal. They also didn’t push currency conversion aggressively which I appreciated. Most of their ATMs are attached to actual branches so they feel more secure and are easy to find in cities.Looking for reliable ATMs in France that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. Credit Agricole in France charged a €6 fee for a €200 withdrawal using my Revolut Mastercard.
BNP Paribas didnt charge any fees when I used my Sparkasse card from Germany. Worked fine in both Nice and Paris.
Used my German card at Credit Agricole. No ATM fees were charged. Smooth transaction.
Withdrew €200 from Credit Agricole using my Australian card-no issues at all.
