Trying to avoid paying crazy ATM fees while traveling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Anyone found ATMs that are free for foreign cards? Would love specific banks or locations if possible.

My Wise card got hit with a 16 BAM fee at a Raiffeisen ATM in Tuzla, but when I used MF Banka in the city center, there was no fee at all. Also tried Addiko Banksmall fee but way lower than others. You’ll want to avoid supermarket ATMs like Euronetthey’re the worst.

Just travelled through Mostar and Banja Luka. UniCredit Bank ATMs were the bestsmall fee (around 6 BAM) and reliable. But if you want completely free, BBI Banka and Union Banka (both part of BH Mreža) didn’t charge me anything. Their ATMs are a bit harder to find but worth it.

I had luck with Nova Banka ATMs in Sarajevo. Used my Revolut card twice and didn’t get charged any local fee. Just made sure to hit “Decline conversion.” Also tried ASA Banka near Baščaršijasame result: no surcharge, clean withdrawal. Definitely avoid Raiffeisen, they wanted to charge me 18 BAM.

No fee charged at Raiffeisen in Bosnia with my Maestro card. Solid ATM with a limit of 1000 KM.
