Is it safe to withdraw cash in Serbia or not?

The ATM at the main bus station in Belgrade gets crowded and sometimes glitches. Use the ones inside the Zeleni Venac shopping arcade - open late, less waiting, and more reliable.

Studied in Serbia for a semester. Most students use Banca Intesa or NLB machines inside grocery stores like Maxi - safer and fee-free. I withdrew cash at 11 PM regularly, especially around dorm areas.

In Novi Sad, I used an OTP Bank ATM after a concert. There were plenty of people heading home, and it didn’t feel sketchy at all. Most ATMs here are new and take Visa/Mastercard without issues.

Belgrade’s Knez Mihailova street felt super safe even at midnight. I used a Raiffeisen ATM near the pedestrian zone - lots of people around, camera surveillance, and zero hassle. ATM safety at night in Serbia is solid in urban centers.
