Is it safe to withdraw cash in Jersey UK or not?
I rarely use cash while traveling, but Jersey’s ATMs are reliable and abundant. The one outside Co-op worked fine at night, and locals passed by like it was totally routine.
Stayed in Gorey and used the only local ATM once around 9 PM. It was outside a pharmacy, lit up, and next to a police station. Couldn’t have felt safer. The whole island has a very low-crime, laid-back energy.
Used an HSBC ATM at the bus terminal after dark. It worked with my international card, had no fees, and the area was quiet but not deserted. Jersey's infrastructure is clean and tourist-friendly - no safety concerns even late at night.
In St. Helier, I withdrew GBP from a Barclays ATM near King Street just after 10 PM. There were people around, shops closing, and zero stress. ATM safety in Jersey at night felt no different from a small English town - calm, orderly, and well-lit.
